## Biography

Johnny Breedt is a South African production designer and art director. He began working in the industry in the 1990s and received an early credit as production designer on the film *Paljas* (1997).

He took over as production designer on *Hotel Rwanda* (2004) after the original designer departed. Breedt has since worked on numerous international productions, including *The Breed* (2006), *Catch a Fire* (2006), *The Last House on the Left* (2009), *Death Race 2* (2010), *Chronicle* (2012, supervising art director), *Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom* (2013), *Eye in the Sky* (2015), *Replicas* (2018), *Sergio* (2020) and *Redeeming Love* (2022). He also wrote, directed and produced the film *Die Ontwaking* (2015).

Breedt won a SAFTA award for his work on *Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom* and shared a Peabody award for the television series *The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency*.
