## Biography

Johnny Cannizzaro is an American actor, screenwriter, playwright and musician. Born in Brooklyn, New York City, he grew up in the Bensonhurst neighbourhood until the age of five. He began his career in 2006 and trained in part at Brookdale Community College, where he worked on productions with Billy Van Zandt.

His feature-film debut came in Clint Eastwood’s *Jersey Boys* (2014) as Nick DeVito. He has appeared in guest roles on television series including *Criminal Minds*, *The Rookie*, *S.W.A.T.*, *New Amsterdam*, *NCIS: Hawaiʻi*, *Quantum Leap* and *Matlock*. In 2025 he portrayed Steven Van Zandt in the Bruce Springsteen biopic *Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere*.

Cannizzaro has also written for stage and screen and received the Best Actor Award at the 2024 Short & Sweet Festival and the Best Comedic Actor Award at the 2018 Collaboration Filmmaker’s Challenge.
