On the evidence of one good hour of television we rate the instinct; the career that will test it is only now beginning. The thing to notice about Johnny Sequoyah in *Believe* (2014) is what she does when nobody is talking. Bo Adams has powers the writers never quite explain, and the series drops her each week in front of a stranger in trouble; most children cast in parts like that have been coached to perform wonder.
