## Biography

Joi McMillon is an American film editor. She graduated from the Florida State University College of Motion Picture Arts in 2003.

McMillon is known for her collaborations with director Barry Jenkins. She co-edited *Moonlight* (2016) with Nat Sanders, becoming the first Black woman nominated for the Academy Award for Best Film Editing. She later edited *If Beale Street Could Talk* (2018) and *The Underground Railroad* (2021).

Her other credits include *Lemon* (2017), *American Woman* (2018), *Zola* (2021) and *Mufasa: The Lion King* (2024).
