## Biography

Jon Cassar is a Maltese-Canadian television director and producer. Born in Malta in 1958, he moved to Canada as a child and graduated from Algonquin College in Ottawa.

He is best known for his work on the Fox series *24* (2001–2010), where he directed dozens of episodes across the first seven seasons and served as a producer. Cassar won a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series in 2006 for an episode of the show. He has also directed episodes of *Fringe* (2008), *Person of Interest* (2011), *Terra Nova* (2011), *Revolution* (2012) and *The Orville* (2017), among many others. In 2011 he produced and directed the miniseries *The Kennedys*, for which he received a Directors Guild of America Award.
