## Biography

Jon Zazula, also known as Jonny Z, was an American music industry executive. With his wife Marsha, he founded Megaforce Records in New Jersey after running the Rock N Roll Heaven record store. The label released Metallica's first two albums, *Kill 'Em All* (1983) and *Ride the Lightning* (1984), and worked with artists including Anthrax and Anvil.

Zazula appeared as himself in the 2008 documentary *Anvil! The Story of Anvil*, credited as Self – Manager of Metallica, Anthrax, Anvil. He died on 1 February 2022 in Clermont, Florida.
