## Biography

Jonathan Shapiro is an American television writer and producer. He began his career as a federal prosecutor before moving into television, writing and producing episodes of legal dramas including *The Practice* (from 2000) and *Boston Legal* (2004–2008), on which he received story and writing credits.

Shapiro is a frequent collaborator of David E. Kelley. He co-created and served as executive producer on the Amazon series *Goliath* (2016–2021). His other credits include writing for *The Blacklist*, *Mr. Mercedes*, *Life* and *Big Sky*. He has received a Peabody Award for his work on *Boston Legal* and several Humanitas Awards.

Before entering television, Shapiro practised law for nearly a decade, including as an Assistant U.S. Attorney. He has also taught as an adjunct law professor at several institutions and is the author of books on law and storytelling.
