## Biography

Jong Lin, also credited as Lin Liang-chung (林良忠) or Josh Lin, is a Taiwanese cinematographer. Born in 1958 in Taichung, he is the son of cinematographer Lin Tsan-ting. He earned an MFA from New York University’s film and television programme.

Lin began his feature career as director of photography on Ang Lee’s *Pushing Hands* (1992), followed by *The Wedding Banquet* (1993) and *Eat Drink Man Woman* (1994); the last of these brought him the Independent Spirit Award for Best Cinematography. He has worked with directors including Gurinder Chadha on *Bend It Like Beckham* (2002) and *What’s Cooking?* (2000), and on Chinese films such as *Blind Mountain* (2007) and *Sunflower* (2005).
