## Biography

Jorge Julião is a Brazilian actor and theatre director. He is best known for his role as Lilica in the 1980 film *Pixote*, directed by Héctor Babenco.

Julião began working in theatre in 1977. At the time of *Pixote*, he was a theatre actor studying psychology. He later appeared in the television mini-series *Moinhos de Vento* (1983) as Antônio Mário and the short film *Aurora* (1987). He received the APCA award for best newcomer actor for *Pixote* in 1980.

Since the late 1990s, Julião has coordinated the Grupo Teatral Rádio Ilusão, a theatre group for mature actors, and has worked as a teacher and director of theatre productions.
