## Biography

Josette Simon is a British actress. She trained at the Central School of Speech and Drama in London and played Dayna Mellanby in the third and fourth series of the television series *Blake's 7* (1980–1981).

Simon has had a substantial stage career with the Royal Shakespeare Company, appearing in over 50 productions and becoming the first Black actress to play a leading Shakespearean role with the company. She received the Evening Standard Award for Best Actress and a Critics' Circle Theatre Award for her performance in Arthur Miller's *After the Fall*. She was appointed OBE in 2000 for services to drama.

Her screen credits include roles in *Wonder Woman* (2017), *Pokémon Detective Pikachu* (2019), *The Witcher* (2019), *Broadchurch* (2013) and *Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy* (2025).
