## Biography

Joshua Allen is a television writer and producer. His early credit was as writer of the episode 'Burden of Truth' for the 2013 CBS series *Hostages*.

He contributed multiple episodes to *Empire* (2015–2019) as writer, story editor, and later producer roles. Subsequent credits include writing and producing on *The Morning Show* (2019–), teleplays for *From Scratch* (2022), and writing and executive producing on *In Treatment* (2021). He is a Writers Guild of America member and has received Primetime Emmy nominations.

Allen, a fourth-generation Chicagoan, has also written stage plays, including a trilogy set during the city’s Red Summer of 1919.
