## Biography

Joshua James Richards is a British cinematographer. He studied film at Bournemouth University and at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts.

Richards has frequently collaborated with director Chloé Zhao. Their joint credits include *Songs My Brothers Taught Me* (2015), *The Rider* (2017) and *Nomadland* (2020). He also shot Francis Lee’s *God’s Own Country* (2017). For *Nomadland* he received a BAFTA Award for Best Cinematography and an Academy Award nomination.
