## Biography

Josie D'Arby, also credited as Josephine D'Arby, is a Welsh actress and television presenter. Born in Newport, Wales, she trained at the Anna Scher Theatre in London and graduated from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art.

She began presenting on CBBC and co-presented *SMart* before hosting *Top of the Pops* and her own Channel 5 chat show *Josie* in 1999. Acting roles include WPC Jodie Finn in the BBC drama *Merseybeat* (2001–2004), Pealy Maghti in the second series of *Look Around You* (2005), and appearances in *Spoons* (2005) and as herself in the film *Blackball* (2003). She has also made guest appearances in *Miranda* and *Casualty*, and presents arts programmes including the BBC Proms and BBC Cardiff Singer of the World.
