## Biography

Joy Gharoro-Akpojotor is a British-Nigerian producer and founder of Joi Productions. She produced the feature *Blue Story* (2019), directed by Rapman, and *Boxing Day* (2021), directed by Aml Ameen. She has also produced the BBC and Netflix series *Champion* (2023) and the forthcoming features *Animol* (2026), directed by Ashley Walters, and *Florid* (2026).

Gharoro-Akpojotor founded Joi Productions in 2016. The company received a BFI Vision Award. In 2020 she was named a Screen International Star of Tomorrow and a BAFTA Breakthrough. She made her debut as a writer-director with *Dreamers* (2025), which premiered at the Berlinale and received a Teddy Award nomination.
