## Biography

Joy Page (born Joy Cerrette Paige, 9 November 1924 – 18 April 2008) was an American actress. She is best known for her role as the Bulgarian refugee Annina Brandel in *Casablanca* (1942).

The daughter of silent-film actor Don Alvarado and Ann Boyar, Page became stepdaughter of Warner Bros. studio head Jack L. Warner after her mother remarried in 1936. She secured the part in *Casablanca* at seventeen, while still at Beverly Hills High School, through her acting coach rather than family influence. Warner did not offer her a studio contract.

Page appeared in other films including *Kismet* (1944) and *Tonka* (1958), in which she played Prairie Flower, and made television appearances before retiring in 1959. She was married to actor and producer William T. Orr from 1945 until their divorce in 1970; their son Gregory Orr became a screenwriter and producer.
