## Biography

Joyce Hooper Corrington is an American film and television writer. Born on 5 August 1936 in Harris County, Texas, she earned a PhD in chemistry from Tulane University and taught at Xavier University of Louisiana before turning to screenwriting.

With her husband John William Corrington, she wrote the screenplays for *Von Richthofen and Brown* (1971), *The Omega Man* (1971), *Boxcar Bertha* (1972), *The Arena* (1974) and *Battle for the Planet of the Apes* (1973), as well as the television film *Killer Bees* (1974). She later worked extensively in daytime television, co-creating the soap opera *Texas* and serving as head writer on series including *Search for Tomorrow*, *General Hospital* and *One Life to Live*. She has also worked as a producer on *The Real World*.
