## Biography

Judith Kaufmann is a German cinematographer. Born on 20 September 1962 in Stuttgart, she grew up in Berlin and trained at the National College of Optics and Photography there before apprenticing as a photographer.

She worked as a camera assistant from 1982 under cinematographers including Konrad Kotowski, Gernot Roll and Raoul Coutard, and became a director of photography in 1991. Her credits include *Four Minutes* (2006), *13 Minutes* (2015), *The Divine Order* (2017), *Corsage* (2022), *The Teachers' Lounge* (2023) and *Gentle Monster* (2026). She co-directed *Two Lives* (2012) and has received several German Camera Awards and other honours.
