## Biography

Judith Magre is a French actress. Born Simone Dupuis on 20 November 1926 in Montier-en-Der, Haute-Marne, she trained at the Cours Simon and began performing on stage in 1945. She made her film debut in 1948 under the pseudonym Simone Chambord and adopted the stage name Judith Magre in 1953.

She is known for roles including Maggy Thiebaut-Leroy in *The Lovers* (1958), Irène in *Elle* (2016), Simone in *Everything Went Fine* (2021) and Line Blanchot in the *Just Retired* films (2019, 2022). Magre has won three Molière awards, for best supporting actress in 1990 and best actress in 2000 and 2006. She was married to filmmaker Claude Lanzmann from 1963 to 1971.
