## Biography

Julia Sutton (7 December 1938 – 30 March 2026) was an English actress and singer. She appeared in the film *Half a Sixpence* (1967) and on television in *Albert and Victoria* (1971), *Upstairs, Downstairs* (1974) as Dorothy Mathews, *Dixon of Dock Green*, *Father Brown* and the dystopian series *1990* (1977). She made numerous appearances on BBC's *The Good Old Days*.

Sutton performed in West End stage productions including *Oliver!*, *La Cage aux Folles*, *Martin Guerre* (1995), *Mary Poppins* (2004–05) and *Sister Act the Musical* at the London Palladium. She was married to dancer Don Vernon.
