## Biography

Julie Harris was a British costume designer. Born Diana Julie Harris on 26 March 1921 in London, she began her career in 1947 at Gainsborough Pictures on *Holiday Camp* and worked for the Rank Organisation before going freelance.

She designed costumes for *A Hard Day's Night* (1964), *Help!* (1965), *Darling* (1965), *The Wrong Box* (1966), *Casino Royale* (1967), *Frenzy* (1972) and *Live and Let Die* (1973). Harris won the Academy Award for Best Costume Design (black and white) for *Darling* and the BAFTA Award for Best Costume Design for *The Wrong Box*. She continued working on feature films and television until her retirement in 1991 and died in London on 30 May 2015.
