## Biography

Julio Macat is an Argentine-American cinematographer. Born in Rosario, Argentina, he moved to Los Angeles in 1971 and studied at the University of California, Los Angeles. He began his career as a camera technician and later worked as a camera operator with director Andrei Konchalovsky on films including *Runaway Train* (1985) and *Tango & Cash* (1989).

Macat served as director of photography on *Home Alone* (1990) and its sequels *Home Alone 2: Lost in New York* (1992) and *Home Alone 3* (1997). His other credits include *Ace Ventura: Pet Detective* (1994), *Wedding Crashers* (2005) and *Pitch Perfect* (2012). He is a member of the American Society of Cinematographers.

He has been married to actress Elizabeth Perkins since 2000, having met her during the production of *Miracle on 34th Street* (1994).
