## Biography

Just Betzer was a Danish film producer. Born in Åbyhøj on 11 June 1944, he began his career managing the confectionery stand and working as a relief projectionist at his father's cinema in Aarhus from 1955. In 1960 he founded the production and distribution company Panorama Film in Denmark.

Betzer produced *Babette's Feast* (1987), directed by Gabriel Axel, which won the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film and the BAFTA Award for Best Film Not in the English Language. His other credits include *The Misfit Brigade* (1987). He later established Panorama Film International in London with offices in Copenhagen and Los Angeles, and founded Just Betzer Films in Los Angeles in 1990.

Betzer died on 6 November 2003 in Lumsaas, Denmark.
