Wu Kai-yu, also credited as Kai Wu or Kai Yu Wu, is a Taiwanese-American television writer. Born in Taiwan and raised in Salisbury, Maryland, she graduated from Carnegie Mellon University with a bachelor's degree in fictional literature. After moving to Los Angeles, she worked as an agency assistant and in various production roles before transitioning to writing.

She was hired as a staff writer on the NBC series *Hannibal* (2013) after submitting a pilot script to series developer Bryan Fuller. Her contributions include the teleplay for the episode "Entrée" and story credit on "Naka-Choko". Wu has also written for *The Flash* (2014), serving as executive story editor, and created the Netflix series *The Ghost Bride*. Other credits include *Paper Girls* (2022) and *American Born Chinese* (2023).
