## Biography

Kara Lee Corthron is a playwright, novelist and television writer. A Juilliard alumna, she began her screenwriting career on the NBC series *Kings* (2009) and has since written episodes of *You* (Netflix), *Servant* (Apple TV+) and *The Flight Attendant* (HBO Max), also serving as executive story editor and co-executive producer on several of these shows.

She is the author of the young-adult novels *The Truth of Right Now* (2017) and *Daughters of Jubilation* (2020). Her plays include *Welcome to Fear City*, *AliceGraceAnon*, *Holly Down in Heaven*, *Listen for the Light* and *Etched in Skin on a Sunlit Night*.

Corthron has received awards including the Princess Grace Award, the Helen Merrill Award, the Vineyard Theatre’s Paula Vogel Playwriting Award and multiple MacDowell fellowships. She is a member of New Dramatists and has taught playwriting at institutions including Primary Stages’ Einhorn School of Performing Arts and Ohio University.
