## Biography

Karen DeWolf, born Muriel Valentine Quack, was an American screenwriter and novelist. She worked in Hollywood for more than two decades from the mid-1930s, contributing to over fifty films as well as later television episodes.

She received writing credits on Columbia's Blondie series, *Nine Girls* (1944), *Johnny Allegro* (1949), *Appointment in Honduras* (1953) and *Count the Hours!* (1953). DeWolf wrote the story and screenplay for *Silver Lode* (1954). She also published the novel *Take the Laughter* in 1940 and contributed to thirty-one episodes of *The Ford Television Theatre* in the 1950s.

Her film career ended in the 1950s after she was blacklisted during the McCarthy era.
