## Biography

Karen Heward was a British film and television editor. She worked as an editor on eleven episodes of the series *The Avengers* (1968–1969) and as music editor on thirty-five episodes (1967–1968).

She began in post-production in the late 1950s, with early credits including uncredited assistant roles on *Seven Days from Now* (1957), *A Taste of Honey* (1961) and *The Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner* (1962). She served as assistant editor on *The Black Torment* (1964) and *Repulsion* (1965), and later as dubbing editor on *An Elephant Called Slowly* (1970).

Heward was born in 1937 in Birmingham, Warwickshire, and died on 4 August 2019 in King's Lynn, Norfolk. She was the daughter of composer Leslie Heward.
