Karen I. Stern is a film and television editor. She began her career in the editorial department on feature films, working as assistant editor on *Reds* (1981), *A Nightmare on Elm Street Part 2: Freddy's Revenge* (1985), *Broadcast News* (1987) and *Say Anything...* (1989).

Stern has edited numerous television series and films. Her credits include episodes of *Equal Justice* (1991), *I'll Fly Away* (1991), *NYPD Blue* (1995–1996), *Profiler* (1996–1998) and *L.A. Doctors* (1998–1999). She has been a primary editor on *Law & Order: Special Victims Unit* since 1999.

In 2013 she became the first editor credited with cutting 100 episodes of a single one-hour series for her work on *Law & Order: Special Victims Unit*. She has received Primetime Emmy and American Cinema Editors nominations for her editing.
