## Biography

Karl Hardman (22 March 1927 – 22 September 2007) was an American actor and film producer. He is best known for co-producing George A. Romero's *Night of the Living Dead* (1968) and for playing Harry Cooper in the film.

Before entering feature films, Hardman worked in Pittsburgh radio, contributing to the morning show *Cordic & Company*. He was president of Hardman Associates, an industrial film company, and co-founded the production company Image Ten with Romero and others.

Hardman also appeared as Bruce Brunswick in the 1996 film *Santa Claws*. His daughter Kyra Schon played Karen Cooper in *Night of the Living Dead*, and his business partner Marilyn Eastman played Helen Cooper.
