## Biography

Karl Howman is an English actor, writer and director. He began acting with the National Youth Theatre in 1968 and has appeared in numerous television series and films.

Howman is best known for playing Jacko in the BBC sitcom *Brush Strokes* (1986–1991), the title role in *Mulberry* (1992–1993) and Buster Briggs in *EastEnders* (2014–2016). His film credits include *The Long Good Friday* (1980) as David, *Babylon* (1980) as Ronnie, *That'll Be the Day* (1973) and *Stardust* (1974).

He married Clare Lightfoot in 1976; they have two daughters, actresses Chloe Howman and Katy-Jo Howman.
