## Biography

Kate Hawley is a New Zealand costume and set designer. She studied at Wellington Polytechnic and the Motley Theatre Design course in London.

Her film credits include *Pacific Rim* (2013), *Crimson Peak* (2015), *Suicide Squad* (2016), *Edge of Tomorrow* (2014), *Mortal Engines* (2018) and *The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power* (2022). She designed the costumes for Guillermo del Toro's *Frankenstein* (2025), for which she won an Academy Award and a BAFTA Award.

Hawley has also created sets and costumes for stage productions by the Royal New Zealand Ballet, New Zealand Opera and the New Zealand Festival.
