Katharine Isabelle's usual part is the young woman who is turning into something and declines to be sorry about it. In *Ginger Snaps* (2000) she is Ginger Fitzgerald, a teenager whose body is changing, and the film uses the change to talk about adolescence. Until we have sat down with *Ginger Snaps* and *American Mary*, the honest thing to say is that the argument for Katharine Isabelle is being made elsewhere, and by people we have no reason to doubt.

Katharine Isabelle (born Katharine Isobel Murray, 2 November 1981) is a Canadian actress. She was born in Vancouver, British Columbia, the daughter of art director and production designer Graeme Murray, who worked on The X-Files.

Isabelle began her career in 1989 with a role in the television series MacGyver. She gained recognition for her performance as Ginger Fitzgerald in the horror film Ginger Snaps (2000) and its sequels Ginger Snaps 2: Unleashed (2004) and Ginger Snaps Back: The Beginning (2004).

Her other credits include Insomnia (2002), Freddy vs. Jason (2003), the series Hannibal (2013), Bad Times at the El Royale (2018) and the role of Robin in Backrooms (2026). In 2014 she received the Fangoria Chainsaw Award for Best Actress for American Mary (2012).
