## Biography

Katherine Hilliker was an American film editor and writer. Born Katharine Clark on 25 April 1885 in Tacoma, Washington, she began her career in journalism as a film critic for *The New York Morning Telegraph* before moving into editing at Universal and later working as a title writer and editor at studios including Select, Goldwyn and Fox.

She frequently collaborated with her husband H.H. Caldwell on titles and editing. Her credits include editor and writer on *7th Heaven* (1927), editor on *Lucky Star* (1929) and *City Girl* (1930), and titles or adaptation work on *Sunrise: A Song of Two Humans* (1927) and many other silent-era films. Hilliker died on 6 December 1965 in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
