## Biography

Kathryn Marlowe (born Kathryn Irene Rea) was an American actress and singer. She appeared in films in the 1930s and 1940s, most notably as Emily Dodsworth McKee in *Dodsworth* (1936). She was also credited under names including Kay Marlowe, Katharine Marlowe, Kay Rea and Kathryn Marlow.

Marlowe was born on 25 May 1914 in Corydon, Iowa, and graduated from Drake University in 1935. Before films she worked in hotels, on the musical stage and in radio; she introduced the song "How High the Moon" in the revue *Two for the Show*. She later had stage roles in New York and London and appeared in television dramas. She died on 2 January 2010 in Tampa, Florida.
