## Biography

Kay Oyegun is a Nigerian-born American writer, producer and director. She joined the writers' room of the NBC series *This Is Us* (2016) as a staff writer in its first season and later became a co-executive producer. She made her directorial debut on the series with the 2021 episode "Birth Mother".

Oyegun began her screenwriting career on the OWN series *Queen Sugar*. She has written and sold feature scripts including *Assisted Living* to Paramount and adaptations such as *On the Come Up*. She serves as writer and executive producer on the Apple TV+ miniseries *Imperfect Women* (2026). Oyegun holds a bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of Pittsburgh and an MFA in producing from the University of Southern California.
