## Biography

Katsu Hisamura, also credited as Kazu Hisamura, is a Japanese production designer and art director. He is known for his work with Studio Ghibli, including as art director on *Porco Rosso* (1992).

Born on 4 December 1958 in Aichi Prefecture, Hisamura began as a background artist on *Castle in the Sky* (1986) and worked as assistant art director on *Grave of the Fireflies* (1988) and *Only Yesterday* (1991). He later contributed background art to *Whisper of the Heart* (1995) and *The Tale of the Princess Kaguya* (2013).
