Yamaji began his career in stage and screen acting in the late 1970s before moving into voice work. He is known for voice roles including Garbage Collector A in the 1995 film *Ghost in the Shell*, Kenny in *Attack on Titan* (2013), Silverfang in *One-Punch Man* (2015), Hit in *Dragon Ball Super* (2015), Henry Henderson in *SPY x FAMILY* (2022) and Kojiro Sasaki in *Record of Ragnarok* (2021).
