## Biography

Kelly Johnson is a New Zealand actor. He began stage acting at the age of 18 with Auckland's Theatre Corporate and made his screen debut in the early 1980s.

Johnson played lead roles in *Goodbye Pork Pie* (1980) as Gerry Austin, *Carry Me Back* (1982) and *Hang On a Minute Mate* (1982). He also appeared in *Bad Blood* (1981), *Battletruck* (1982) and as Lieutenant Scott in *Utu* (1983). Later credits include episodes of *The Ray Bradbury Theatre* (1992) and *Shortland Street*, as well as the film *Spooked* (2004). He co-wrote the short film *Sink or Swim* (1986).

After a period teaching in Japan, Johnson left acting and trained as a lawyer. He has worked as a criminal lawyer and mediator in New Zealand.
