## Biography

Kelly Souders is a television writer, producer and director. She joined the staff of *Smallville* as a writer in its first season in 2001 and contributed numerous episodes, often in collaboration with Brian Peterson. She advanced through the production ranks to become co-showrunner for the later seasons and directed one episode, "Luthor".

Souders co-created and served as showrunner on the National Geographic series *The Hot Zone* (2019). Her other credits include writing and producing work on *Political Animals* (2012), *Under the Dome* (2013), *Beauty and the Beast* (2012) and *9-1-1: Lone Star*. She holds an MFA in screenwriting from the University of Southern California.
