## Biography

Kenji Imura (also credited as 居村 健治) is a Japanese anime director, unit director and assistant director. He began his career in production roles at Studio Ghibli on films including *Princess Mononoke* (1997), *Spirited Away* (2001) and *Howl's Moving Castle* (2004), later working as assistant director on *Tales from Earthsea* (2006) and *Ponyo* (2008).

Imura has served as unit or episode director on several Makoto Shinkai films, including *Your Name.* (2016), *Weathering with You* (2019) and *Suzume* (2022). He has directed episodes of *Attack on Titan* (2017), *Gundam Reconguista in G* (2014–2015) and *Girls Band Cry* (2024).
