His real name is Masayoshi Kato; he previously used the stage name Tadashi Ishihara and adopted his current name upon securing the lead role in *Rodan* (1956). He is known for numerous supporting roles in Toho's kaiju films, including Kazuo Fujita in *King Kong vs. Godzilla* (1962), Jiro Torahata in *Mothra vs. Godzilla* (1964), Commander Nishikawa in *Destroy All Monsters* (1968), Morio in *Son of Godzilla* (1967) and Kenkichi Miki in *All Monsters Attack* (1969).
