## Biography

Kenneth Waller (5 November 1927 – 28 January 2000) was an English television and film actor. Born in Huddersfield, Yorkshire, he served in the Royal Air Force during National Service and worked as a wages clerk before training in repertory theatre at the Oxford Playhouse and making his West End debut in the 1957 musical *Free as Air*.

He appeared in numerous British television series from the 1960s onwards, including *Doctor Who*, *All Creatures Great and Small* and *Coronation Street*. Waller is best known for playing Old Mr. Henry Grace in the eighth series of *Are You Being Served?* (1981) and Grandad in the sitcom *Bread* (1986–1991). His film credits include small roles in *Chitty Chitty Bang Bang* (1968), *Scrooge* (1970), *Fiddler on the Roof* (1971) and *Carry On Behind* (1975).
