## Biography

Kenny McBain (28 July 1946 – 22 April 1989) was a Scottish television director and producer. Born in Glasgow, he attended Hutchesons' Grammar School, took degrees in music and English at Harvard University, and spent three years with the Prospect Theatre Company before moving into television.

As a director, his credits included the 1979 Doctor Who serial The Horns of Nimon, episodes of Coronation Street and The Omega Factor, and other series. He produced Grange Hill and Boon, and originated the television adaptation of Colin Dexter's Inspector Morse novels. He produced the first two series of Inspector Morse for Central Independent Television and received a BAFTA nomination for his work on Grange Hill.
