## Biography

Kevin Clash (born 17 September 1960) is an American puppeteer, voice actor and producer. He is best known for performing Elmo on *Sesame Street* from 1985 to 2012, as well as for voicing Splinter in the *Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles* films (1990–1991) and Baby Sinclair in the series *Dinosaurs* (1991–1994).

Clash began making and performing puppets as a teenager in Baltimore, Maryland. He joined *Sesame Street* in the mid-1980s after early work on shows including *Captain Kangaroo*, and went on to perform extensively with The Jim Henson Company. His credits include puppetry and voices in *Labyrinth* (1986), *Muppet Treasure Island* (1996) and *Muppets from Space* (1999). He served as Muppet Captain and co-executive producer on *Sesame Street*, and published the autobiography *My Life as a Furry Red Monster* in 2006.
