## Biography

Khurrum M. Sultan is a British director of South Asian heritage. He began in documentary filmmaking and made his first drama telefilm, *Insha’Allah*, set in Karachi, which screened at international festivals.

In the UK he has directed episodes of *Hollyoaks* (2022), *Vera* (2023), *McDonald & Dodds* (2024), *Waterloo Road* (2025) and *Shakespeare & Hathaway – Private Investigators* (2025). He previously worked in West Africa as head of production for the launch of AREWA 24 television channel.

Sultan won the RTS Midlands Award for Best Director for his *Vera* episode. He was nominated for the Edinburgh TV Festival’s New Voices Debut Director Award in 2020 and named on the Broadcast ‘Hot Shot’ list in 2022.
