Kiel Martin was an American actor. Born Kiel Urban Mueller on 26 July 1944 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, he died on 28 December 1990 in Rancho Mirage, California.

He was best known for playing Detective John "J.D." LaRue on the television series *Hill Street Blues* (1981–1987). Earlier roles included a part in the film *The Panic in Needle Park* (1971) and a regular role on the soap opera *The Edge of Night*. He also appeared in *Moonrunners* (1975) and guest-starred in series such as *Miami Vice* and *Murder, She Wrote*.

Martin was married to actress Claudia Martin, daughter of Dean Martin.
