Kim Delaney is an American actress. She is known for playing Detective Diane Russell on the television series *NYPD Blue* (1995–2003), a role that earned her a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series.

Delaney began her career in daytime television as Jenny Gardner on *All My Children*. She later appeared as Alex Devlin on *Tour of Duty* (1987–1989) and had leading roles in *Philly*, the first season of *CSI: Miami* (2002), and the first six seasons of *Army Wives*. Other credits include *The O.C.* and *Chicago Fire*.

She trained at the William Esper Studio in New York.
