## Biography

Kiran Sonia Sawar is a Scottish actress. She trained at the Oxford School of Drama after studying Marine and Environmental Biology at the University of St Andrews.

Sawar is known for her role as Salma in the 2016 BBC drama *Murdered by My Father*, for which she received awards including Best Actress in Film at the Eastern Eye Arts, Culture & Theatre Awards. Her other credits include Shazia Akhand in the *Black Mirror* episode "Crocodile" (2017), Agent Giti Rahman in *Slow Horses* (2022–), Harriet Kaur in *The Nevers* (2021–2023), and Sal in *Meg 2: The Trench* (2023).

She is of Pakistani descent and grew up in Pollokshields, Glasgow.
