## Biography

Kōbun Shizuno is a Japanese anime film and television director. Born on 2 September 1972 in Tokyo, he began directing with the television series *Detective Conan* in 2004 and has worked in various roles on projects including *Evangelion: 1.0 You Are (Not) Alone* (2007) and the television series *Knights of Sidonia* (2014).

He directed several *Detective Conan* feature films between 2011 and 2017, including *Quarter of Silence* (2011), *The Eleventh Striker* (2012), *Dimensional Sniper* (2014), *Sunflowers of Inferno* (2015), *The Darkest Nightmare* (2016) and *Crimson Love Letter* (2017). Shizuno co-directed the animated *Godzilla* trilogy with Hiroyuki Seshita: *Planet of the Monsters* (2017), *City on the Edge of Battle* (2018) and *The Planet Eater* (2018).
