## Biography

Kôji Komurakata (小村方 宏治) is a Japanese animator, storyboard artist and director. He began his career in key animation, with early credits including *Ghost in the Shell* (1995), *Ranma ½* (1989) and *Golden Boy* (1995).

He has worked as animation director and episode director on series such as *Kuroko's Basketball* (2012–2015) and *Haikyu!!* (2014), for which he directed multiple episodes. Later directing credits include episodes of *Joker Game* (2016), *Legend of the Galactic Heroes: Die Neue These* (2018), *Heavenly Delusion* (2023) and *Kaiju No. 8* (2024). He formerly worked at Ajiado and heads the animation department at Production I.G Studio Niigata.
