## Biography

Konrad Elfers (25 October 1919 – 22 September 1996) was a German composer and pianist. Born in Essen, he provided music for numerous films and television productions, including later scores for silent films such as Fritz Lang’s *Dr. Mabuse, the Gambler* (1922) and *Die Nibelungen* (1922–1924).

He composed the music for *Funeral in Berlin* (1966), the *Pippi Longstocking* films (1969), and *Inside Out* (1975). Elfers also created scores for radio plays and was known for his live piano accompaniment on the television series *Es darf gelacht werden* in the 1960s.
